RWG surcharges explained

Why do you have RWG peak surcharges on your shipment invoice?

The Rotterdam World Gateway Terminal (RWG), has implemented a surcharge for booking trucking in peak hours (between 6:00 a.m. and 5:59 p.m. on weekdays). RWG implemented this change to reduce terminal congestion. According to RWG, it is critical to increase the spread of container arrival and distribution by road.

What does this mean for you?

Unfortunately, this also affects you as our customer, as this is an additional surcharge on top of the current rates you receive from Shypple. RWG's new surcharges went into effect on May 1st, 2023, and the expenses for each shipment/container are EUR 20,00. These expenses will be added as RWG extra costs on the invoices you receive from Shypple.

For the time being, this surcharge is in effect until further notice, and if RWG makes any changes, we will inform you.
